Hello and Happy Mad Fat Friday! This is Ace Jones reporting live from the front lines of my local bookstore where people are lined up in the street and traffic is backed up for miles! But it’s not Black Friday, it’s Mad Fat Friday and this mob-size crowd has gathered in anticipation of the long-awaited, much-anticipated release of Diary of a Mad Fat Girl (featuring the adventures of yours truly, Ace Jones) which hits shelves this Tuesday, February 7! I can’t believe all of these people are here to- wait a minute….
I think this police officer wants to speak with me….
Ok, I’ve just been informed by local law enforcement that freelance reporters aren’t welcome outside the mall and the line I’m looking at isn’t waiting to get in the bookstore. It’s backed up from the theatre where all these folks are apparently waiting to buy tickets to see some movie with that Harry Potter kid in it.
Oh well.
Can’t say I’m not disappointed. Guess I’ll head on over to the bar at Texas Road House and try to drown my embarrassment with peanuts.
